Overview of Student Support
To enrol in this program students must be a minimum of 14 years old. This is to ensure that the student has the necessary skills to undertake the training and assessment requirements of the training. Children under the age of 14 may be accepted upon application to the local Sports Medicine Australia state branch in which the course is been held. This is assessed on a case by case basis.
Students will receive a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID003 Provide First Aid and HLTAID001 Provide CPR upon successful completion of this training. Sports Medicine Australia issues Statements of Attainment via PDF and or hard copy (upon request). Certificates are provided to the student either at the completion of the course(upon request) or on average within 10 business days of successful course completion.
Practical Scenarios and Group Discussion
Students will be assessed individually and in group activities. Students will need to satisfactorily complete all assessment tasks to successfully complete the program.
Student assessment is conducted using a range of methods:
1. Scenario based assessment;
2. Demonstration of CPR procedures;
3. Demonstration of various first aid techniques;
4. Written questions.
5. Pre-course Online Component
Verbal reporting forms part of the scenario based assessment and the student will be required to explain the reporting procedures during the group activities.

This course is normally $150.00 for the general community. Course fees are covered for by the Inclusive Participation Grant.
